PicoScope 3206 transfer speed

Post by elupna »

Hi,

Our OEM application requires capturing measurements of around 1000 samples at 100MS/s and averaging them as fast as possible. I understand that the PicoScope 3206 does not has an internal averaging function and thus it is necessary to capture each waveform and perform the averaging in the computer. Could you provide an estimation of the time it would take to capture for instance 64 waveforms of 1000 samples using a high-end PC within a C++ application that uses you libraries?

Thank you in advance,

Alayn

The new PS3204 / 5 /6 A / B scopes include aggregation, which might help in what you're trying to do.

A sample rate of 100MS/s would have a 10nS sample interval, so 1000 samples would take 10uS to capture.

The time taken for a pc to average 1000 samples would depend upon the particular PC being used.

You could test this on your PC using some simulated data, without using a scope.
