Multiple Enviromon Setups

Post by drspin »

Hi PicoTech

I'm setting up multiple environmon systems, all distributed away from each other.

I would like to administer them via dialup/gsm and download data + publish result to the web using a timed event and batch file.

I have successfully done this with a 1 enviromon setup, but I am having trouble with multiple enviromon setups.

Any pointers or suggestions?

thanks
kevin

Hi Kevin

Thank you for your post, I am sorry to hear that you have been having problems with your setup.

It is possible to load information from several loggers onto the same PC, you will need to create seperate .cfg files for them. If you then have a seperate shortcut for the software for each logger which in the command lione opens with the appropriate file for each, you will be able to use all of them.

If this is not how you were planning to set up your system then please supply me some more information so that I can advise accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards

I am having a similar problem - I have tried to create two separate files on the desktop - load a copy of enviromon software in each and set-up cfg files for each logger.

I though I had cracked the problem of running two loggers but now when I set up the scaling the program completely exits so I cant continue.

Is there an easy way to select multiple loggers on one laptop so when I visit the various site we operate I can download each set. I always use the same COM port on the same laptop so I have no option of selecting multiple loggers as this requires multiple com ports. Also I only wan to run one logger on the PC at any one time.

Hi well in your particular case here is how I would do it:

1) Copy the Enviromon Folder which is by default in :

C:\Program Files\Pico Technology\EnviroMon\

2) Paste it and rename it.

3) Go into the folder and create a separate shortcut to the desktop, ensure each of the shortcusts has a different name and is pointing at the different folders.

Hope this helps.
