Measuring 230V Mains with PS4244 passive probe?

Post by Stibra »

Hello all,

Newbie here using PS 4244.

Is it ok to meaure a 230V(Mains) UPS Input with a passive probe (10x) ?

Can it be done if N is floating?
Can it be done if N is at ground potential?

Hi,

No you cannot use the x10 probe it is not rate for mains voltage. You will need to use a probe that is rated for mains voltage like an isolated probe.

For example the TA041:
