small terminal board compatibility

Post by Melchsedec »

Is the small terminal board which comes with the Picolog 1000 Series compatible with thermocouples and pressure transducers?

If not, then what are the modifications which can be made to suit the sensors?

The thermocouples which I have are Type-K from Newport and the Pressure transducer is a 0-10bar unit from Keller with a minimum input voltage of 8V.

Thanks.

You cannot use thermocouples on a Picolog 1000 unless you do some external circuitry, we do sell an 8 channel thermocouple device that can be used with the PL1000 at the same time:

Hello Ziko,

Q1)Do you mean it is not able to measure temperature with the small terminal board(PR112)?
Q2)Would you please let me know the 8 channel thermocouple device?
Q3)And I would like to know about the external circuitry to measure temperature through the PicoLog.

Q4)I got a picolog1216 data logger and small terminal board(PR112) and some T-type thermocouples.
I need to measure temperature connecting all the tools. What shall I do?

Many thanks. :D

You will need a circuit similar to http://circuits.linear.com/sensor_interface_*_bias to be able to create a voltage that our data loggers can use.

Alternatively you could just use the USB-TC08 http://www.picotech.com/thermocouple.html which was designed for this purpose.
