Starttime/Recording time

Post by mdashper »

Is it possible to set a time for the start of recording?
Also is it possible to set a recording period?
I am using DrDAQ in Realtime continuous /Repeat immediately mode with a sampling interval of 10sec.
I would like to start recording at midnight for 24hours then repeat. Do I have to be there at midnight to start it off? I currently have it set to repeat after 8640 samples (6 x 60 x 24) but is this calculation necessary? Can I just tell it to record for 24 hours?

Hi,

You can use the Windows Task Scheduler to start PicoLog at midnight (or whenever). Use the -r switch to start recording automatically and you'll have to specify which settings file to load. Have a look in the PicoLog users manual under 'Startup Commands'.
Theres an example of how to start PicoLog from a command line in Chapter 3 of the manual 'How to start recording when the computer is turned on'.

With regards to the total recording time, you will have to work it out like you have been doing by specifying the sampling rate and number of samples required.

Best Regards and Happy New Year!
