Equipment to count components and record

Looking for a logging system that will count component throughput and log every 15 mins, 5/7 days/week. Willneed to display/print in a list format with:DATE;Start Time of Block eg 09:15, 09:30 etc, Count of components. The sytem at present is just a counter - no logging.

Hi this is possible if you wrote your own software and had a PC on at all times.

If you had something that gave pulse outputs this can then be fed into a data logger or an oscilloscope. You can then write your own software to do the counting of components and display the data in the format you require.

How many components do you think you will be counting in 15 mins?
Also is having a PC on at all times sound like a viable option?
