1012 power problem

Hi
My newly arrived 1012 was working fine collecting data for hours on end with scope6. My app device is using a 5v supply.
Without disconnecting the USB I turned off the computer, windows xp, the app device is still running, then is turned off.
This procedure repeated without problem

Today I added v dividers to c11 c12 as instructed by the terminal guide.
Plugging into usb no response, status led OFF
Remove USB cable
Remove software scope6 and then reload it from CD.
Connect USB cable, does not recognize device.
Put voltmeter on 2.5 terminal of terminal board.
No voltage indicated.

Remove terminal board
plug in Usb cable
no response, status LED OFF

The 1012 seems dead

Is there anything else I can do to get it working again
