is the pico9200 can function as a vector network analyzer
or network analyzer?

Dear Sir,

Thankyou for inquiry with regard to vector network analyzer application in respect to the 9000 series.

The 9200 can't directly work as a VNA or NA. It can wwork as an oscilloscope, then with the help of FFT it can work as a spectrum analyzer with a limited resolution.

The PicoScope 9201 uses digital sequential sampling technology to acquire and display high- bandwidth waveforms.

Acquisition is a process of digitizing data points from a signal and assembling them into a trace record that is shown on the display. Once you have created a trace, acquisition of the signal is continuous and you see a live trace on the display.

How traces are acquired
The PicoScope 9000 uses a sequential sampling technique for acquiring waveforms. When the oscilloscope acquires trace records, it bases the sampling process on a trigger event that occurs on the trigger signal. The trigger signal is independent of the signal being acquired. A sampling oscilloscope does not continuously monitor the input signal applied to the channel, but looks at it only at discrete points in time. At each point, the oscilloscope samples the signal and stores a replica of the input voltage on an input sampling capacitor.
