Question about the USB PC O'scopes

Post by MDOC »

Is it truly hardware based? That is, are all the DAQ and sub processors in the box, or does it require the PC to do signal processing and analysis?

Hi,
All the multiplexing, sampling and digitising, as well as gain changes etc are done in the scope itself largely by programmable logic. The raw data is then sent to the PC via USB where all the post-processing for the PicoScope GUI is done. This system ensures that your PicoScope is always upgradeable by downloading the latest software from our website.

PeterF.
