Measurement for Amplifierpower

Post by rockline1 »

Hello,
i hope you'll understand that my english is not so good because i'm from germany.
Ok, my question is this: i use the Picosope 2203 for measuring Burstsignals of 20mS length (Sinus, 1kHz) for Amplifiertest at 2/4/8 Ohms. With the measuring "True RMS" i can detect the RMS Voltage between a timerange between the rulers on the x-axis.
My wish is to generate a new type of measurement, so that i can direct read out in "Watt" for 2/4/8 Ohm reference. Is it possible to make a new measurement type?
Anyone a good idea?
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
It is possible to create a "Custom Probe" in the "Tools" menu which will give you a direct readout on the screen of power in a 2 or 4 or 8 Ohm load. If you then call up a measurement between cursors to capture the "Burst" power, the measurement will be in Watts. There is a "Wizard" to help you design a "Custom Probe". Please contact again if you need any more help.
Regards,
PeterF.
