Hello,
we bought a Picoscope 2203 some time ago.
I must say I am impressed by the latest features brought in in the new versions of the PicoScope 6 software, in particular the serial decoding tool.
In this regard, my company would really find useful that the UART is added to the list of supported protocols (CAN is the only one, at the moment). SPI, I2C are two other common ones that would be very handy to have.
So my question is: is any development planned in this respect, or even foreseen in the long term?
Thank you for your execellent support.

Hi and thank you for your suggestion I have put this through to the relevant department. There are no immediate plans to do UART however we are open to suggestions from customers.

I couldn't agree more with you!!! SPI and I2C are very important and I think for the most people, they are more important than the CAN!
What I would like uttermost is the possibility to measure a transfer function, with magnitude/phase.
This makes the picoscope immediately a network analyzer!
To make it complete, a (spectrum) averaging function must be included, and the option to have a logarithmic x-axis.
Absolutely - all three are must haves!
UART, SPI and I2C decoding must surely be more useful to us electronics folk than CAN?
(so what are we; car mechanics?? oivey... )
Here's my 2p worth...
As useful as UART and SPI/IIC decoding would be - and yes they get my vote too - how about this....
Wouldn't it be great if PicoScope supported a plugin scheme, where pico and 3rd Party developers could code their own plugins - this would allow a whole unimaginable world of usefulness for PicoScope.
The "Pico Technology Test and Measurement Newsletter"
ealier this month had an online survey to select the next serial format to be added to PicoScope.
Have you counted the votes?
And -more importantly- which formats will be the first to be selected?
I also agree that UART and SPI would make using my PicoScopes a lot more useful.
It would also allow me to more easily convince my manager to buy more Picoscopes for our entire department.
I develop embedded controllers and I have to debug CAN, SPI, I2C and UART depending on the actual design, so I would state my compliments to Picotech here for including these Features so far to the actual Softwar release... for free!
This is really awesome in comparison to other products because we have Tektronix Scopes here in the lab as well and we had to pay about €600 and more for each Module to trigger on these signals and you can only install 2 Modules. So if you need CAN, SPI and UART, you have to buy THREE additional trigger modules - this is really sassy.
