trying to get a 5204 to work

Post by HV-MAN »

Hi

We have just been loaned a demo 5204 to trial before we purchase etc.
details from help
Model: PicoScope 5204
Serial Number: QJY29/15
USB Version: 2.0
Calibration Date: Wednesday, 25 April 2007
Hardware Version: 1
Driver Version: 1, 4, 2, 0

Unfortunately we currently cannot get any waveform to display, this software seem to install and load correctly and but won't display anything, we played with it for a few hrs.
We have tried installing various versions of the software on 3 different computer without sucess.
using version 6.2.14.0

Is there a diagnostic we can run to see if the instrument is playing up, we definately have an input onto it we checked this via another cro.

perhaps the people who had it before us damaged it?

attached is a crash report this happen when we selected EXT trigger.

How you can help we really need this osc operational.

Cheers
Craig

Hi,
The crash when you select EXT shows that the software is running as that is a known bug with version R6.2.14 (now updated to R6.2.20). My guess is that the scope has been damaged at the input. If you click on the "Lightning" symbol that should at least give you some viewable trace as that is "Auto-setup". If you have any red triangles with exclamation marks visible permanently then that channel is blown. Please contact us on help-desk if you need more help:-
