Connecting N Type sensors to Picolog

Post by igchappell »

2 Weeks delivery for TC-08 so I have purchased a Picolog from RS so I can monitor 2 temperatures on a wood fired boiler. How do I connect the sensors onto channel 1 and 2 of my picolog assuming it is possible?

Hi,
You will need to use thermocouples because of the high temperatures of the wood burner. The TC-08 accepts thermocouples directly but the PicoLog 1000 series does not unless you build two "Cold Junction Compensation" amplifiers. Best to have waited for the TC-08.
