Post by Guest »

Hi,

I want to purchase a 9211 picoscope, but i don't find in your web site or datasheets of the product, the slew rate of the scope and i want to know. Thanks. :)

Hi and thank you for your post,

You should divide 80% of max input p-p on scope's own rise time. In that case: (CORRECTION) 0.8 x 1 V / 29 ps = 27.5mV/ps = 27.5 V/ns.

Just a few questions regarding your application:

1. What type of signal do you expect to acquire: Repetitive, Single-shot, eye-pattern?

2. What is the rise/fall time of your signal: <100 ps, 100 ps - 1 ns, 1 ns - 10 ns, >10 ns?

3a. Do you need to measure: electrical signals or optical and electrical signals?

3b. Is the signal an electrical or optical standard?

4. What type of measurements do you need to take?

Kind regards

Hi,

my answers for your questions:

1. What type of signal do you expect to acquire: Repetitive, Single-shot, eye-pattern?

repetitive basically. It is 1 pulse of 3.3 ns width/3.3V which is repeated every ~10 usec. But we are always facing new signal patterns, so we need to be able to measure single-shot and eye-pattern.Regarding to the single-shot. We don´t know when the pulse is coming, so can picoscope capture the pulse with fidelity?

2. What is the rise/fall time of your signal: <100 ps, 100 ps - 1 ns, 1 ns - 10 ns, >10 ns?

100 ps - 1ns

3a. Do you need to measure: electrical signals or optical and electrical signals?

electrical. For the optical, do we need a converter right?

3b. Is the signal an electrical or optical standard?

I work basically with 2 standards: LVTTL and LVCMOS

4. What type of measurements do you need to take?

Regarding to this app, I need to well capture the pulse sample just before and after it.

thank you very much

The 9000 is not a single shot oscilloscope, rather a sampling oscilloscope. Its actual sample rate is 100kS/s.
