Flow graph

Post by Mervin »

Hello,

I have a flowmeter connected to a PicoLog 1216. With PicoScope (6) I am able to get a graph, but it's just pulses (digital) at a certain frequency. How can I get a (realtime) graph of that frequency (with time on the x-axis) ?

Can this be done with PicoScope? I also installed a trial version of LABview, should I use this instead?

Hi, yes the Picolog 1000 series will work with PicoScope 6. You can also use Labview if you wish but that will probably be extra work for you.

Kind regards

Hello,

The setup works, but I want another graph. What I get is a graph of digital pulses on a timeline, what I want is the frequency of these pulses on a timeline (Hz the y-axis, and time on the x-axis). How can this be done?

What I'm actually trying to get is a graph of flow. My flowmeter only sends pulses. The faster the pulses come, the higher the flow. So I figured I need a graph of the frequency of these pulses...

Hmm,

The only way I can think of this is using PicoLog recorder, you can get it to record frequency. However your pulses will have to pass through the zero point. If for example your pulses go from 0 to 1V then it would not measure it correctly, so you have to offset it.

What is the range of frequency range that you are trying to measure?
