View output of signal generator

Post by guy_c »

Is it possible to view the signal generator waveform in the main Picoscope window?

I'm using a Picoscope 2203 as part of a vibration measurement lab for undergraduate students. One part of the lab is a practical demonstration of digitization of a signal by sending the signal generator sine wave back into an input channel. It would be really useful if the students could see the 'raw' sine wave before it is sent out to compare to the digitsed version coming back in. Is this possible?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Hi I do not quite follow, if I understood correctly then all you need to do is get a BNC to BNC cable from the sig gen out and connect it to channel A or B. Then switch the signal generator on in the software.

Let me know if I misunderstood your query.

Kind regards

What I mean is can you see the signal that is being sent from Picoscope R6 to the Signal Out BNC (i.e the 'analogue' sine wave)? So that I can compare it to the digitised version.

Or in other words you can get a trace of the two input BNCs of the Picoscope 2203, but can you get a trace of the signal sent to the Signal Out BNC?

The software does not send a signal, the software sends instructions to the 2203 to send a signal out of the generator.

Ahh I see. I misunderstood how the Picoscope operated.

Thank you for the clarification and help!
