which scope is right for me

I have a pretty simple request: I need to grab a 5 volt (or less) signal that will span from 3 to 150 microseconds. Ideally, I would like to be able to export the output to MS excel for downstream processing. Can you recommend the most cost effective product to get this done?

Hi question is, how fast does the signal change, this will enable me to determine the sample rate and number of samples and hence the most cost effective product.

Kind regards

This would be for recording the max output of LED flash lamps. The rise time is in about 3 microseconds to peak and it stays there for 80 to 120 microseconds, depending on my settings. I don't really need to catch the rise portion of the signal, but it would be nice to have at least a number for every 5 to 15 microseconds to make sure the flash peak stability is good. Does that help?

Ok so you would need to take maybe sample at quicker than 1us intervals for a period of 200us since that is the most suitable time base (20us/division).

Therefore you would need to sample at the very least 1MS/s probably 2MS/s at 20us/division. This would then use a memory of 400 samples.

I think the 2203 should be fine it has an analogue bandwidth of 5MHz, this should be sufficient for the fast rise time. The sample rate is 40MS/s and memory is 8kS.

Hope this helps.
