Enviromon EL008 logger cuts out and restarts after selftest

Post by montkaj »

Hi

I came into work today to find my Pico Enviromon EL008 logger cutting out then restarting all the time. It gives off an alarm to start with then goes through its selftest after that all the lights go out and it starts up again. Any ideas?.

I wish it was as easy as that the computer that was installed when the system was put in was destroyed a couple of years ago. So I as the new engineer have no information about the installation and the logger hasn't been connected to a computer for some time. The system is installed onboard a yacht with approximately 30 cabins. The Enviromon EL008 unit wasn't used all that often as we usually go into each cabin with a mobile thermostat to test the tempreture before the ower comes onboard. I have tried connecting to the logger via the comm port but am unable to stay connected for long as it cuts out after the self test. This cutting out after the self test also occurs even after the logger has been disconnected from the telephone connection used to supply its information from each of the cabins. Any Ideas?.

Hi Arran,

The system needs to be initially programmed on a computer, where the configuration settings are chosen, the device can then be disconnected from the computer for a length of time. The measurements can then be downloaded to the PC when the devices is connected to the PC and the software is running. You can also have the logger connected to the PC ata all times and the software running, there are a number of ways really.

This is really heading towards more of support@picotech.com email.

However I would recommend you downloading the enviromon software, which you can find on our software download page.

www.picotech.com/software.

If you have any further questions could you email me at
support@picotech.com and I can go into further detail perhaps I can also call you.

Kind regards
