Gumstix + pico

Post by rcl »

Hi,

Does anyone know if the linux drivers for the Picotech dataloggers work on the Gumstix mini-computers? (http://www.gumstix.com/)

Thanks,
Rick

Rick,

Gumstix mini computers allow you to run various Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, SuSe, Gentoo, Centos 5 etc. Our drivers have been tested under Fedora, Ubuntu, openSUSE 10.3. However since we do not directly support Linux applications (we do however provide drivers and examples), and without using the Gumstix computers personally I can not say for sure that the Pico dataloggers will be compatible.

I do not think it will work on an ARM processor as the driver is only available in binary format compiled for the i386 (intel x86).

I would also like to use a gumstix board (Overo) but without the source code I can not compile for the ARM architecture and the supplied drivers are useless for my projects.
