Library for Arbit waveforms?

Post by jom »

Hello

I was wondering if there was a library from arbitrary waveforms. I'm not quite sure how to build what I need. I need a 1kHz signal modulated at some typical AM frequency, say, 500kHz or 1 MHz. I was wondering if there was something already build/written I could modify.

Thanks

Hi

I'm afraid we don't currently have anything like that. All I can suggest is using Excel or Matlab to generate your waveforms.

Ok, thanks

I went and tried an Excel spreadsheet and was wondering about the precision of the .csv file can be. When I save the file as .csv I can only get 2 decimal places. Is this enough to carry over to PS? When I do I get a lot of spurs in the waveform and I'd assume these are from imprecise data. I tried to pick a step size that gives even steps relative to the frequencies I'm using (1024 Hz for the audio and 524288 Hz for the carrier).

Any ideas on something like this?

Thanks

If you make you column wider before you save you will get more decimals.
