PT 104 thermocouple connection

Post by Guest »

I know that PT 104 is for PRTs. But I may have to use a thermocouple in some cases. How can I convert the signal then?

Thank you.

Hi

To measure the temperature using a thermocouple, you need a cold-junction-compensation circuit. See http://www.picotech.com/applications/thermocouple.html for more information.

Hey,

I found a scaling file in the picolog, "type_K.scl", can I make use of this with a K-type thermocouple? How about the connection? which DIN's should I use?

Thank you.

Yes, but you would still need cold-junction compensation. It would be much easier to use a TC-08, which is designed for use with thermocouples.
