Hi

I have just checked the posted example and it runs without errors.

What errors do you get?

My German is not too good I'm afraid!

Have you installed PicoScope 6? Do you have ps5000.dll and ps5000wrap.dll (from the posted zip file) in c:\windows\system32?

Hi,
Now it works. The file ps4000wrap.dll in the SDK from your website is only 8kb and the new from your zip-file is 52kb. i take the new and bigger one and it works
Now i will "learning by doing" with the ps4000.xls -> how it works.

One wish i have, that the picolog software also works with the 4424 !
or that it give an other program to make logging easyer.

thanks for your help

doubts on ps4000.xls

Post by madhu »

Hi,
I'm trying to run ps4000.xls along with PicoScope 4000 series (4424).I'd some doubts on that:
1.The maximum possible number of time samples would be limited by the maximum number of rows in excel (~65000), right?
2. Is there any way to simultaneously view the graph during the collection of the data points from the 2 channels?

Thanks,
Madhu

Hi

If you place the data in more than one column, you should be able to capture more than 65000 samples in the spreadsheet. Give a try.

Yes, you can collect data from both channels in Excel.

Hope this helps

Problems while running ps4000.xls

Post by madhu »

1. Can't we open the Picoscope 6 screen while running the ps4000.xls macro? When I tried that, it gave an error box " Unit not opened". I want to instantaneously view the graph as it is collecting data.

2.After I run the excel macro, the light on the Picoscope goes off during data collection. But when I run the Picoscope 6, it blinks frequently. Why is that?

3. The voltage values from one channel were erroneous. How is the calibration done in the program? I see they are dividing the counts by 32767 and then multiplying by 20000 mV. How is this decided?

Hi

1. No

2. The light is on either when the scope is connected, but not opened or when it is transfering data. The Excel example opens the scope transfers a single block of data and then closes the scope. With PicoScope, the scope is opened when the application starts and when it is running, blocks are collected continually.

3. 20000 is used because the 20 V range is selected in the call to ps4000SetChannel
