Will the 3224 do this ?

Post by Guest »

Hi - I need a DSO that will do this:

Capture a digital pulse sequence spread over approx 150msec
The pulse sequence is composed of 3 to 6 pulse groups separated by 1 or more msecs. Each group contains a number of "logic" bits, each about 50usecs wide. Since some of these bits may additonally be shifted in position, by up to 100usecs (position modulation) I will need to have a "bit waveform" resolution of about 1usec (i.e. I need to be able to determine leading and trailing edges of the bits with this accuracy - and further determine the exact distance between the pulse groups)

The pulse sequence must be catured in Single Shot mode and the trigger event is the first bit in the first of these pulse groups...

Is the 3224 and PicoScope SW suitable for this ?

(I'm capable of writing a streaming "sink" application, but prefer not to..)

Kind Regards
- Hans -

Hans,

The PicoScope 3224 set to capture approx 200mS would capture the signal at a sampling interval of 400nS (800nS if two channels are enabled). Therefore you would be able to obtain your 1uS resolution requirement. The single shot mode would not affect this requirement.
