Hi,
I have a strange problem with a combination of a 6403 Scope with Picoscope 6.12.9.2917 (PC: Win 7 notebook with i5-4200 processor, 4 GB RAM)
When I change the input range for adapting it to the max. voltage I actually feed into the scope, then the y-Axis of the scope does not follow this new range - it keeps showing the curves with the maximum range of this channel keeping the signal low and hardly visible. I also use a combination of an older 3204 scope with very old Picoscope software (6.6.16.12) for about 10 years now - here this works perfectly.
Can anybody please provide a hint on what is going wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Martin
Hi Martyn,
thanks for your fast reply.
Yes - the scope is running and working. Because of your request for a video I simplified my channel configuration and partly tracked down the problem: It only occurs at math channels. The pure input channels (which I didn't use on the screen...) do react normally on input range changes.
Now the problem seems to lie in the math channel wizard: I untick the box "Override automatic range selection" and then I klick next - and if I check it by klicking "back" - the tick box is ticked again! So it seems the "unticking" action is not taken by the software.
Is this problem known? Or is there something wrong in my preferences?

Math Channel Wizard - Tick box for Override automatic range selection
I have an add-on:
I have checked my old setup (3204 scope with Picoscope 6.6.16.12) - here the tick is saved as I ticked it - consequently it workes right.
So it seems that it is a problem of Picoscope 6.12.9 - shall I just try the actual version?
This is the expected mode of operation in the current version of the software to prevent ranges changing without warning, so I will raise this as an issue to discuss with the development team. There is an outstanding request to have a range that allows math channels to be drawn at the maximum level, normalized.
Hi again,
can you tell me the Picoscope version number, at which the change of ranges of channels with math channels was disabled? I'd like to switch to a newer version, but not to one with no possibility to adapt the ranges.
Thank you!
Hi Martyn,
are there any news with this issue? My old PC has just died so I actually install a new one - and I again have to install some very old version because of this issue with the math channels. It's really annoying!!
You have done so much good work making the software better and better - and I'll stick to this "stoneage"-version...
