TC -08 measuring voltage

Post by Guest »

Hi, I wish to utilise my TC-08 data logger to measure low voltage.

Is the SE000 exposed wire probe "k" the correct thermocouple to use
and how?

thanks

Hi the SE000 is a k type thermocouple used to measure temperature. The TC-08 can measure temperature and voltage, if you have the serial TC08 it measures +/-60mV if you have a USB TC08 it can measure +/-70mV. To measure voltage you don't use the thermocouples. What are you trying to measure?

+-70mV

Hello!
I am going to use the TC-08 as a voltmeter. there is parameter Full scale input: ±70 mV. Well what does it mean for me? Would voltage across the input terminals higher then 70mV destroy the device? Or would it withstand 2x70mV=0.14V? Which terminal shall I connect the ground of my tested system?
Many thanks.

Hi

The TC-08 is protected to 30 V. +/- 70 mV is the range that the USB TC-08 can measure.

The inputs are differential.
