K-Type thermocouple for either Pico 2204A or PicoLog 1216

Post by Derek... »

Hello Everyone

Is it possible to create a new probe in the Picoscope 6 software or the picolog software in order to measure the thermocouple voltage on either the 2204A or preferably the 1216? I know there is no cold temperature reference but it does not need to be pin point accuracy.

I know is better to use the TC-08 but I don't have one, and I would prefer to get the tests completed today.

Thanks

Derek

Technically you can create probes to convert voltage readings into other values, but the voltage levels you are going to see related to the vertical resolution and input ranges of the devices, will probably give meaningless results.

You can always try it, without defining probes, to see what the readings look like.

Hello Martyn

I did more research yesterday and found out I will have a problem with the resolution. I have a few OpAmps lying around, I will solder a couple diff amp circuits together and then feed them into scopes.

Thanks
Derek
