2203 problems

Post by Andy Grayland »

I am having difficulty with my 2203 when used with plw recorder. If I set either input channel to lower than +/- 1volt. Then relays in the scope click off and on at about 30Hz. I have tried the unit with 2 computers. Anyone any idea? Andy

Hello
I am using a 2203 with PLW version 5.20.3. I am using real time continuous recording method. Action at end is stop. Restart 1 min. I am sampling at20 ms stop after 500 samples. It makes no difference if I change the sampling time. This fault happens id I am recording or not.

Thanks for looking at this

Andy

Hi there actually no problem with your scope this is they way PicoLog Recorder works. If you have 2 channels selected on the lower voltage ranges (i.e. +/-1V or below) or doing more than one measurement on one channel the relay will switch.

PicoLog works by taking one block of reading per channel or per measurement. When two channels are selected that are on the lower the relays switches. So when one channel is being read the other channel is set to the higher range to reduce cross talk, then when the second channel is being read it set back to its lower range and son.

Another scenario when the relays keep on switching is when more than one measurement is being taken on one channel, with each measurement on different ranges.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards
