PicoLog Freezes

Post by peterb »

PicoLog Ver 20, Xp, Desktop, plw file and folder on Network.

When I try to open a recording to use the settings for new data, PL freezes.
I have to terminate the application.

Then PL will not run it opens as Reader, I assume it thinks PL is still open.

I have to reboot the PC to run PL again !!!

Hi peterb,
Just to clarify, are are you saving the data on a network drive, but the programme is installed on your hard drive?

You say the PL will not open it as a reader, does that mean you are using Pico player to try and open it? You also say it thinks PL is still open, can you check in your task manager that it is running?

Kind regards

The file is saving to a Network Drive, the application is on the local HDD

No, when PL freezes and I close it down, Windows reports it is not responding and I confirm it is to be closed.

If I then try and open PL it opens as Player.
The only way I can run PL again is to reboot the PC.

Aha! I have recreated your problem and have reported as a bug. It seems like saving to the network drive causes the problem. A work around for the time being is to copy that file to your hard disk and load it from there. Now in terms of PicoPlayer loading this is because PicoLog has not ended, even if you try to end task it from task manager it does not exit, what you have to do is unplug the device.

We will look to resolve this on the next release, thanks for your input.

I am having a similar problem to Peterb.
I have an ADC-11
PL opens up fine. and I can record a run, but after I have come out of PL (via exit) , the next time I try to open PL by clicking on desktop icon, the PLW player appears on the screen. I then find my machine virtually locked and have to jump out and re boot.
I am using a stand alone machine.

Any advise ?
