Converting V to A

Post by Guest »

Hi there

I'm using Picolog (with an ADC 100 connected to a two channel poteniostat) to do some chronoamperometry but I can't seem to convert my Y axis from volts to amps (specifically nA). From re-arranging Ohm's law I know that simply multiplying my Y axis values by 100 will give me the correct values. Is there a very simple way I can do this, rather than having to export the raw data into excel and converting manually?

Many thanks in advance

Hello

There are two ways you could do this. If you want to see both raw (V) and scaled (A) data, select "calculated parameters" from the settings menu. You ca then specify your scaling equation.

Alternatively, go to settings -> input channels click "OK" and you should see a list of your channels. Double click on one of the channels and then select "options". Here you will be able to specify your units. Then, in the same box, click on "scaling" to set up your scaling using either an equation or look-up table.

Hope this helps

Thanks Robin. Both have worked nicely.

Kindest regards
