Channel always overrange

Post by RobinBarton »

Hi all,
I have a PicoScope 3205 which has been running happily for [many!] years but now always comes up as "! Channel overrange" on channel A. B is fine. This is the case with nothing connected, a probe connected but not attached to anything or a grounded probe. I'm guessing that's a bad sign... I don't remember doing anything bad but there are a couple of people using it.

Any thoughts...?

Thank you in advamce

Sounds like a component on the input channel has blown, aged, etc.

We can take a look at this for you, so please contact support@picotech.com to discuss the options.

Hi, I have the same problem with my Pico 2204A. I have only started using it and both channels A and B says overrange.
I have probed the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft in this picture do you notice anything wrong?

Change the voltage range from 50mV to 20V, and see if that helps.

Please note that the 2204a is not designed for automotive use and can easily be damaged if you probe the wrong signals.
