engine sensor/output on data logger

Post by JTSteve »

I want to be able to record engine data for racing purposes, the engine is a motorcycle four cylinder so there are no provisions to use an scan tool. Can you suggest what to use? I want to record:
Intake ait temp. sensor, throttle position sensor, engine coolant temp. sensor, manifold pressure sensor, crankshaft position sensor, vehicle speed sensor, all dc volts. Also output of fuel injector pulse width and ignition firing.
Thanks, Steve J

Hello Steve,

You may find inspiration from the following article http://www.picotech.com/applications/gas-turbines.html

It is possible to do something similar for your application using the TC-08 http://www.picotech.com/thermocouple.html and ADC-11 http://www.picotech.com/data-acquisition.html converters with the PicoLog software application http://www.picotech.com/data-logging-software.html

The TC-08 accepts thermocouples directly and the ADC-11 accepts 0 to 2.5 VDC from your other sensors.

Regards
John
