can the excel 'paste as link' command show both channels?

Post by NathanUnger »

I have a picoscope 3223, and wanted to use it to calculate values based on variables from both channels. For example, if I measure voltage on ch A, and have an amp probe on ch B, then I would like to know what the wattage of the device under test is. Ch A volts X Ch B amps = watts.
I tried the paste as link command, but it only gave me channel A in Excel as live data. How do I get it to show Channel B live data at the same time? If I could, then I could simply use an Excel cell formula to derive my calculated result at a specified time.

Is this possible? Or is there another way to achieve this? I think it only works in software version 5.

Hello Nathan,

As you have noted, what you wish to achieve is possible with PS5 but not PS6.

Two options that you may wish to consider are:

1. Write your own application software

2. use PicoLog application software (http://www.picotech.com/data-logging-software.html)

Presumably, the power that you wish to determine is d.c. ?

Regards
John
