PS2206B, Trigger direction works not fine

Post by Jan91 »

Hello,

I use PS2206B with Labview and I have some problems with the trigger direction:

Configuration:
Channel A: Signal (20kHz)
Channel B: Trigger Signal (for testing I connected it parallel to Channel A)

timebase 2 (8 nsec.) / 300.000 samples
trigger: Channel B / Autotrigger = 0 / Threshold = 2V / Trigger Direction = Rising / Trigger Delay = 0

It works, but at almost 1 of 4 measurements the trigger direction is wrong.
The Signal on Channel A starts at 2V, but with a falling direction.
I use the PS2000aSetSimpleTrigger.
I tried Block Mode and Rapid Block Mode, no difference.
It becomes better, if I use a higher timebase. But in my application I need the shorter timebase.

Can you please help me.

Today I find out, that this happens only if the range of the trigger channel (B) is 5V.
If I change it to 10V (or any other not equal to 5V) , everything works fine.

That is a bit strange, but reproducible.

It's possible that this is down to noise on the signal.

Can you try changing from the Simple Edge trigger to an Advanced Edge trigger and change the hysteresis level to a higher value.
