Serial Decoding I2C - How choose a no standard frequency?

Post by EricF »

Hi everybody,

I want to use serial decoding for I2C bus.
I use a Picoscope 3206 with Picoscope 6 software (v6.12.9.2917) on a Windows7 OS.

My problem is how choose a free frequency bus? Picosope shows only a list of 4 "standard" frequency ...

Thanks for your help.

as far as i know the i2c protocol is a a-synchrone protocol, the speed of the clock signal determines the transfer speed. So it should not matter which speed you choose.

thanks very much for your reply Benno.

Yes I confirm to you, I2C is a synchrone bus.

But PicoScope seems don't decode my signals with Picoscope 3206.

However, I tried with Picoscope 2206, (analog chanels), and now it's OK !

Kind Regards.

Eric

Can you send the two files, correctly decoding with 2206 and incorrectly decoding with 3206, to support@picotech.com . Decoding is performed in the software, so shouldn't be device specific, with the data files we can take a look in detail and see what is happening.

It may just be the different setups for the data collection that are causing the problem.

Hi Martin,

I can't retest now with Pico3206.
The setup is showed on my first post.

I will send my files to support when I retest.

Thanks.
