Yes, you're right, it's not really a problem with pulse width measurement - it looks more like a missing samples / incorrect timebase kind of thing. In retrospect my choice of subject description wasn't very good.

Unfortunately it's the best PC I have available, so trying a faster one isn't an option. But as you mention, it seems reasonable to expect that the software would warn that samples were being missed. Perhaps the fundamental bug is simply that missed samples in continuous mode can go undetected?

It looks to me as if there may be an underlying bug, so a faster PC will be of no benefit. I will update when I am back in the office, and have checked with the development team.

Hopeful of a fix at some time but, as the team are very busy, I can give no indication of exactly when this may appear.
