Using the external trigger input as a digital input channel?

Post by Reinier »

Hi,

I'm using the 5204. Is it possible to use the external trigger input as a third input? Of course it has only one bit of resolution. To find enough memory or if memory bandwidth is a problem at high sampling speed, I'd be happy to sacrifice one bit of resolution in channel A or B. Most of the time 7 bits is more than I need.
The third channel makes it a bit easier to debug digital or mixed analog/digital circuits. Please give it a thought. I'm pretty sure, a lot of people could use it. I've never seen a scope with this feature. PicoTech, be the first, make my day!

Hold on, make it a four channel scope! I forgot the AUX port at the backside. I don't need much bandwidth, a few MHz will do. I do need deep memory.

Hi and thank you for your post.

Those inputs cannot be used as channels to sample data. Your suggestions have been noted for future products.

Kind regards
