PicoScope 4444

Post by wally555 »

I have been looking around for a scope to use for SMPS development. The 4444 with its high vertical bit count and isolated channels looks interesting. But it's fatal flaw is no AWG. For SMPS work i would need to be able to make bode plots and check component impedance at a range of frequencies.

The open source software here looks very good.

But with no AWG on the 4444 there is no solution. I think you should redesign the 4444 with a good quality 20 MHz AWG for bode plots and audio work.

Thank you.

Hi Wally,

The PicoScope 4444 has a set of calibration pins which can be controlled using the API functions but the waveforms that can be output are limited in terms of the type and frequency range.

I have raised a new feature request. In the meantime, you could use a PicoScope 5000 Series oscilloscope with active differential probes to provide the isolation. These PicoScope models can be used with the Frequency Response Analyzer.

Regards,
