CAN serial decode demo config?

Post by mtrivich »

I have a 2204A I am attempting to config the demo for CAN serial decode.
The decode display is blank.
The analog display is a sinewave.
I expected a square wave series for data.
The reference library contains only one chA option, no library.
The tutorial and Youtube video do not address demo data source.
Where do I find config info?

Mike

We don't have demo signals in the software for any of the serial decoders, just simple signals. If you have a 2204a then try capturing a live Can bus signal and try decoding that, it is quite straightforward to do.

Thanks Martyn

I wanted to build CAN configs/skills/link files before I "went live" on a volunteer project.
Does anyone else on this forum have captured or link files to donate?
They could be referenced or included in future downloads.
This would be handy for other serial protocols too.

One main area for CAN is automotive so you may find some examples on our automotive forum

You will be able to look at these files with the software, although your 2204a scope would not be suitable to capture similar waveforms from vehicles.

I have saved some waveforms of automation projects over here

http://www.ans-net.nl/picotech/

I don't know if you can make big capture files with the 2204A
But this is a example of a bus with more than 1000 messages per sec.
