Understanding "zero offset" and its use with 4444 ?

Post by nurber »

Hi Forum. Not clear to me how I short-circuit differential inputs. With 441 for example, is it with differential inputs or is the ground clip involved ?

Hi nurber,

The answer to your question is that the 'Zero offset' function, for the PicoScope 4444, just removes any offset that is present on both differential inputs. The voltages displayed by PicoScope 6 do not include any common mode voltages, so whether or not the ground clip is connected shouldn't affect either the offset or correction made by using 'Zero offset'. So, although you can short-circuit the Probe tips with the ground clip, you only need to connect the probe tips.
