Picoscope 6 - Serial Decoding

Post by dominic_goh »

Hi Picotech,

Do you have a method to automate (with picoscope /a) the export button in the serial decoding window?

I will be testing hundreds of PCBAs in the manufacturing environment every day and will like to find a process to automate the recording of serial decoded data (ARINC 429 and I2C) on every PCBA (when the FW code is running).

Thank you.

Hitesh

Hi Dominic,

I have looked at the list of automation commands and it doesn't appear to have this feature at the moment.

I will raise a new feature request for our Development Team.

Any news on this, I have a need for this also at the moment :D

Also math function from automation. For CAN decoding I first want to subtract A - C and then do the CAN decoding on the math data.

Maybe one could automate via running executable from Alerts on Capture or Buffers full? Executable would be some sort of macro software with all needed clicks and keys recorded. If have not tried this but conceptually should work if find good macro software - quick search shows some promise.

This feature will also be required to export the Deep Measure table data from the latest Beta version of the software, as this uses the same code base as the Serial Decoding.

Bump, issue is still in the air:

User cannot automate decoded data export because macro recorder does not see SD window. Also it might be problem that SD/Export does not offer auto naming of export file.

I also want to mention this would be very nice to have, for both decodes and DeepMeasure.
I would vote for an action in Alarms.
