RS485

Post by Guest »

Hi,

I need to analyze an RS485 connection and I have some questions regarding your products. The baud rate between the devices is 57600 and I want to verify if there is any noise on the line.

Q1.
Is it possible to do differential reading with one of your USB scope ?
I.E : RS485 Channel A (-) vs Channel B (+)

Q2.
Do you have a galvanic isolation of some of your USB scope ?

Q3.
What will be the best bundle (oscilloscope_kits) to do this task ?

Thanks

I am interested in the response to the original post, however, my requirement is for baud rates up to 250k.

Dear Guest,

Q1. Our scopes are single-ended, however, you may use our differential scope probe with our products (http://accessories.picotech.com/oscillo ... robes.html).

Q2. Our scopes do not have a galvanic isolation.

Q3. This depends upon the resolution that you require. However, if you decide to use the differntial probe, then the choices would be the PicoScope 2202 (http://www.picotech.com/generalpurpose- ... copes.html) or PicoScope 3224 (http://www.picotech.com/highprecision-o ... copes.html) for a two channel scope.

John
