Connecting pico logger at a distance

Post by Guest »

I have ADC - 16 PICO data logger connected to BF2 beam load cell. I need to have my computer at a distance of 50 to 100 metres from the load cell. can anyone advice the best way of doing this ??

Thanks

Hi and thank you for your post.

If you do a search on serial port extenders there are numerous companies that provide a solution, we have not tried any of them and as such cannot say if they will or won't work. If you contact the vendor they may be able to offer you a "sale or return", so you can trial the product.

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards

Please can you let me know what is the maximum recommended distance I can go with ADC-16 data logger which is connected to a strain gauge. That is; the maximum distance between strain gauge and the data logger

HI,

We provide a 1 meter cable and have not tested it on longer cables as I said before depending on your distance you may wish to invest in a serial port extender.

Kind regards
