PicoScope Beta release 6.12.3

PicoScope release 6.12 builds on the user interface improvements made in release 6.11 and adds a couple of new features.

  • Larger control buttons for improved touch screen instrument control.
  • Addition of "Nudge" buttons for incremental control of horizontal and vertical oscilloscope functions.
  • Addition of control setting "Grids" for faster control of primary oscilloscope functions.
  • Addition of edge count measurements.
  • Addition of color-keyed field identifiers in the serial decoders.

The addition of "Nudge" buttons for the main controls such as timebase is a great time saver for both mouse and touch screen users. Just tap once to change range.

PicoScope - horizontal control settings grid makes it easy to switch from one timebase setting to another, without having to go through all the ones in between!

The nudge buttons are ideal if you just want to move up/down to the next range. If however you want to jump to a specific timebase or voltage range then settings "Grids" enable faster and easy range selection compared to the previous drop down lists.

A typical example would be changing from say 10 ns/div when viewing a fast noise spike to say 20 ms/div to see if the signal has any 50 or 60 Hz noise. On a traditional benchtop oscilloscope scope this involves turning the knob over 20 clicks (and invariably overshooting and having to go back). With PicoScope it is 2 clicks of the mouse or taps of a touchscreen.

Addition of edge count measurements. A frequent customer request has been for the software to automatically count the number of edges in a waveform.

With the new edge count measurement you can choose between rising, falling or both rising and falling edges. Measurements can be made on all data or just between the rulers.

Color-keyed field identifiers in the serial decoders helps users to focus on, and interpret just the relevant data.
