Hi,
I am considering a 8-bit oscilloscope with AWG. One of your distributors - alliedelec.com - offers a PicoScope 2205A "for educational use only".

Are the technical specs of 2205A the same as the standard 2205?

Browsing the brochure I see the minimum time base for the 2205A is 500ns instead of 50ns and the AWG bandwidth is 1MHz instead of 100kHz. Are these printing errors in the brochure or real differences?

Why such a large price difference?

Does the 2205A support PicoScope 6 and get full support + 5Year warranty?

Hello Marco,

The PicoScope 2205 and 2205A oscilloscope hardware is the same, however the 2205A variant is only available to academic organisations (schools, colleges and universities). I believe the differences you observed in the specifications are printing errors. Refer to our website for the correct specification.

Why such a large price difference?

The 2205A contains a pair of 60MHz probes to form a kit, and is priced accordingly with an education discount. The 2205A is exclusively available through Allied Electronics.

Correct, the 2205A is fully support in PicoScope 6 and includes 5 year warranty.
