XY Plot Frequency Response

Postby Guest » Wed May 05, 2010 8:46 am

We are looking for a solution that can help us to plot a frequency response of an amplifier or a filter.

We are using sweep generator that drives the UUT and in the output we connect a RF detector that translates the freq to voltage (low freq video) signal.

The generator has a ramp signal that represents the 1freq sweep that we can use as a referense signal.

The freq. BW of the system will be app. 50MHz.
Please recommend your best choise.

Hi,
As described, both the ramp voltage out of the sweep generator and the output of the RF detector are relatively slow to change. Any of our scopes will be able to display these two signals in XY mode. Our 5000 & 6000 series scopes have a built-in 20MHz sweep signal generator and can, in Spectrum mode, directly display a "Peak Hold" spectrum plot up to 250MHz or 350MHz respectively with a suitable external sweep generator.
