Hello,

Configuration:
Windows XP SP2
ADC200/20
Picoscope 5

It used to work, but now when starting the Picoscop it keeps saying 'ADC200 not connected'. Re-installing the software doesn't work. When starting the pc and viewing 'USB Controllers' in Hardware it says 'Pico parallel port', but when starting the software it disapears and the not-connected message is shown.
Any idea what's the cause and what can be done to resolve it?

So you are saying when you run the software it disconnects the device under device manger.
What version of the software are you running and have you tried a different USB port?

Yes, before starting Picoscope in Device Manager and under USB-controllers 'Pico parallel Port' is present. During loading of Picoscope it disappears from the list and then (of course) Picoscope gives an error. Picoscope does start and the info says:
Release 5.20.1 32-bit
ADC200 Driver V4.83
picopp.sys V1.13
And also it states the USB adapter USB-PP1 is not configured (of course .

Searching for new hardware locks the Wizard new hardware and the computer has to be restarted for the PPP to apear in Device Manager again.

There are no other USB devices atached except for the mouse.

I though it might have something to do with software installed after installing the Pico software (I did install software for a lib_usb0 problem a programm gave, which had something to do with USB), so I removed most of the later installed software and drivers, but the problem persists ...

Bit of a strange problem, can you go into device manager and uninstall the Pico USB adapter then disconnect it and plug it into another USB port and install it again. Then try running the software to see if the problem persists. If so then uninstall the driver again and the software then delete any the PicoFull folder. Go to our software download page and download 5.16.2 and see if this is any better.

The PPP in the Device Manager doesn't let itself be uninstalled, the window (not windows xp itself) hangs when trying to remove it. With Ctrl-Alt-Del I can close Device Manager and start it again, but the PPP is then still present in the Device Manager.
I'll try safe mode and see if it can be uninstalled there. I think something happened in Windows and maybe I should do a reinstall or something like that.

Hi,
Uninstalling through Device Manager didn't work, so I deleted all entries in the register containing "pico". After that the normal detection procedure started again (on a different USB-port), but... no improvement. When the Picoscope software starts the PPP entry in Device Manager disappears and Picoscope reports a missing ADC200.
Any more sugestions on how to remove all pico-stuff from the register, windows etc. (maybe I didn't remove everything?) before re-installing the software again?

Does it matter if the ADC200 is connected to the PPP? The result is in both cases the same.

I've installed the PPP with the ADC200 on another pc and there it runs ok. When viewing in Device Manager the driver properties details of the PPP it lists 2 items: libusb0.sys and picopp.sys. On the other pc it's only picopp.sys.

Anyone any idea if libusb0.sys may be the problem? I've tried to de-install the things that might use it, but it stays on the pc. When I delete the file manually Windows doens't work ok anymore.

I don't really know what the libusb0.sys is but you should just need picopp.sys. Upon a quick search on google, do you have Cygwin installed on your computer?

I have the exact same problem with my Picoscope 2205 connected through USB cable.

Wen I start the Pico Scope software my device dissapears from the "Device manager".

It has also been working well for a long period.

i have this problem too. with adc-212 usb-pp1.
At inclusion PicoScopeAutomotive of any version, vanishes and again appears PiciParallelPort and the program doesn't see ADC-212
