Hello to all. Just got my new four channel Pico automotive scope and have a few questions in regards to pattern options for secondary ignition diagnostics.

Will Pico 6 or newer versions ever have options for raster , parade, superimposed patterns etc for multiple cylinder diagnosis?

Also, as a new Pico scope user, i'd like to get some training, hands on or CD/Web based. Who, where is the place to go?

Thanks, looks forward to learning more.

Hello and thank you for purchasing a Picoscope, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

With regards to the secondary ignition patterns you can of course use all four channels to get the complete set of signals from a 4 cylinder engine. In order to view above that number of cylinders we produce a product called the mixmaster http://www.picoauto.com/mixmaster.html , this will enable you to view a parade of patterns from up to 12 cylinders.

As for training we offer courses throughout the UK directly from our website http://www.picoauto.com/training/training-order.html . The course is generally split 50:50 between the practical sessions in the workshop and theory within the classroom.

I hope this helps and if you need anything further please just ask.

Regards,

Matt

Mr Woodward,

For training we have many options for you. We support automotive users on six continents. You can get started with The Autonerdz Community Forums here:

http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl

These are the most exiting and information rich automotive lab scope forums anywhere. And registration is free. 8)

We also have web and CD based training available.

As for the raster and superimposed ignition views, these may be added in the future. You can parade them now quite well. If you dial up the performance, you can get many engine cycles on one screen and zoom in to the most minute detail even down to a single rotor notch. As Matt mentioned, the Mixmaster is a good way to achieve this on waste spark ignition systems with more than four cylinders.

You can also do a kind of superimposed view using the new Pico 6 digital persistence modes.
