We wish to audit the power requirements of an experimental industrial process. It will be necessary to look at the three-phase power consumption if the system as a whole, while monitoring the three-phase power of one specific unit within the system. We will therefore need to have two monitors running simultaneously.
We are currently using a great number of your products – mostly ADC11, ADC200, and TC08. We are therefore quite familiar with your logging software. However, for the above we shall need to use current clamps and be able to determine in real-time the phase-currents, together with real and apparent power, power-factor etc.
Could you please let me know what you have available to do this, together with the cost of the items – two of each, as mentioned – and what we need in the way of PCs and ports (USB/parallel-port/serial).
Many thanks in advance,
Ken Howell

Hi,
Thank you for your request. Unfortunately, it is not really possible to do this, to measure power, you need to take the voltage and current at exactly the same time.
Picolog running in 'Real time continuous' mode uses the windows clock for its timing and only takes one reading from one channel at a time, therefore not fullfiling the above requirements.
Best regards, |
