hello!
the laboratory we are working in would like to conduct experiments and performance tests for renewable energy equipments and applications. we require a multichannel data logger that will be capable of gathering data using different existing sensors at very low cost.
the parameters that we would like to measure are the following:
1. wind velocity (using existing thies clima anemometer with Hz input)
2. temperature (using existing PT100 RTDs)
3. solar irradiation (using existing kipp & zonen pyranometers with mV input)
we were thinking along the lines of purchasing the ADC-16 data logger. do we need to purchase signal condition devices for each sensor? Can we construct these signal conditioning devices ourselves?
thanks and we hope for your quick reply.
regards,

Hi,
Thank you for your request.
The ADC-16 is a high resolution data logger, it takes a sample every 1.5 seconds, I do not belive that you will be able to use this unit.
A possible solution is the ADC-11/12, which is a 12 bit resolution and measures voltage between 0-2.5 volts, therefore the voltage per LSB is 610microvolts.
It has a sampling rate of 10k samples per second that is divided between the active channels. The number of channels available to use are 11.
Picolog, Picoscope are provided free with this unit or you are able to write your own software using our drivers.
Best regards, |
