I wish to use a cost effective spectrum analyser in an ATE set up. It only has to perform one function and that is to measure the phase noise profile of an RF synthesizer at around 153 or 174MHz. The actual measurement centre frequency can be shifted down to somewhere lower by an external mixer. I currently tie up an expensive R&D department HP 4396B to do this. The required dynamic range is a minimum of 80dB (preferably 90dB)and the display span on our current test is set to 10kHz with a 30Hz resolution bandwidth.

I've had a look at your demo program. It doesn't seem to work quite like a dedicated hardware spectrum analyser because it only seems to offer a near zero to one-of many stop frequency with a manual x-span magnifier and no resolution bandwidth or centre frequency control.

Can any of your instruments do what I want?
